About Enumclaw

Located in the shadow of majestic Mount Rainier, Enumclaw offers a quaint shopping district and authentic year-round agricultural, recreational and artistic experiences, less than one hour from metropolitan areas and SeaTac International Airport. Local golf, tennis and youth sports facilities abound, and Crystal Mountain Resort offers local, first class skiing with beautiful scenery to enjoy both winter and summer.

Downtown, Enumclaw's shopping district hosts a variety of independently owned boutiques, eateries, wine bars, spas and salons. Additionally, the city features an historical walking tour and prominently placed sidewalk markers and statues pay homage to Enumclaw’s logging heritage.

Springtime provides anglers with opportunities to catch trout in nearby lakes and streams. Mountain biking, camping, hiking, horseback riding, back packing and boating await outdoor enthusiasts. The Mutual of Enumclaw Stage Race, a bicycle race that brings professional and amateur racers from all over the country to Enumclaw, takes place each May. Summer months include the popular Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration, and the King County Fair, the oldest fair West of the Mississippi. This old fashioned county fair offers animal viewing, rides, entertainment and arts and crafts. Come to the gathering of clans and visit with people from all over the world at the Scottish Highland Games. This two-day Scottish Festival in July features old Highland Games, wonderful bagpipe music and Scottish food and drink.

Blazingly colorful autumn leaves usher in the fall in area neighborhoods and the high country. Get lost in a corn maze (featuring a new theme every year), take a farm tour or visit a local pumpkin patch. In December, Enumclaw is host to an annual Christmas Parade and tree-lighting ceremony. Downtown merchants beautifully decorate the area with holiday garland, Christmas trees and lights. Enumclaw offers a warm, friendly atmosphere to shoppers during the busy holiday season.

Winter guests enjoy the miles of nearby snowmobile, downhill and cross-country areas. Take advantage of the ski facilities at Crystal Mountain Resort, or try catching the winter run of steelhead trout found in the nearby White, Green, Carbon and Puyallup Rivers. Lowland hikes are available year round.

Enumclaw is home to six school park playgrounds, an indoor public swimming pool, 16 beautiful City parks and a state of the art baseball complex, Boise Creek Sixplex, with six playing fields for Little League, school teams and hosting tournament play from May through September.
